Benefits of the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Package in 2021: Smt. Niramla Sitharaman, Union Finance & Corporate Affairs Minister, today announced a Rs 1.70 lakh crore relief package for the poor under the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Yojana to aid them in their fight against the Corona Virus. “Today’s Measures Are Intended At Reaching Out To The Poorest Of The Poor, With Food And Money In Hands, So That They Do Not Face Difficulties In Buying Essential Supplies And Meeting Essential Needs,” Smt. Sitharaman Said At A Press Conference Here Today.

Shri Anurag Singh Thakur, Minister of State for Finance and Corporate Affairs, as well as Shri Atanu Chakraborty, Secretary, Department of Economic Affairs, and Shri Debashish Panda, Secretary, Department of Financial Services, were in attendance. The Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Package has the following components.
1.Insurance Scheme For Health Workers Fighting Covid-19 In Government Hospitals And Health Care Centers Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Package
A special insurance scheme would cover Safai Karamcharis, Ward-Boys, Nurses, Asha Workers, Paramedics, Technicians, Doctors And Specialists, And Other Health Workers.
Any health professional who is involved in an accident while treating Covid-19 patients would be compensated with a sum of Rs 50 lakh under the scheme.
Under this scheme, all government health centres, wellness centres, and hospitals in the centre and states would be covered, and around 22 lakh health workers would be provided with insurance coverage to combat the pandemic.
2.Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Yojana Package Ann () Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Package Ann () Yojana Pradhan Mantri Garib Kaly
The Indian government would not allow anyone, particularly poor families, to suffer as a result of the lack of foodgrains due to disruption in the next three months.
This scheme would benefit 80 million people, or roughly two-thirds of India’s population.
Over the next three months, each of them would receive double their current entitlement.
This feature would be provided at no cost.
Pulses: To ensure enough protein availability for all of the above-mentioned individuals, 1 kg of pulses will be provided per family, based on regional preferences, for the next three months.
The Indian government will provide these pulses free of charge.
3.As part of the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Scheme,
Farmers Will Benefit:
Under the PM KISAN Yojana, the first instalment of Rs 2,000 due in 2020-21 would be front-loaded and paid in April 2020.
It would affect 8.7 million farmers.
4.Cash Transfers Through Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan:
Poor People’s Aid:
PMJDY Women Account-Holders would receive an ex-gratia of Rs 500 per month for the next three months, worth a total of Rs 20.40 crore.
Cylinders of Gas:
Gas Cylinders will be provided free of charge to 8 million poor families under the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Package for the next three months.
In Organized Sectors, Assistance to Low-Wage Earners:
Wage-earners earning less than Rs 15,000 per month in businesses with fewer than 100 employees are at risk of losing their jobs.
For the next three months, the government proposes to pay 24 percent of their monthly wages into their PF accounts as part of this package.
This would keep their jobs from being disrupted.
Senior Citizens (above 60 years old), Widows, And Divyang:
Around 3 Crore Aged Widows And People In The Divyang Category Are Vulnerable Due To COVID-19’s Economic Disruption.
During the next three months, the government would provide them Rs 1,000 to help them get through their difficulties.
MNREGA
MNREGA Wages Will Be Increased By Rs 20 Under the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Package, Starting April 1, 2020. Wage Increases Under MNREGA Will Provide An Annual Benefit Of Rs 2,000 To A Worker.
Approximately 13.62 crore families will benefit from this.
5.Self-Help Organizations:
6.85 million households are supported by 63 lakh Self Help Groups (Shgs) organised by women.
Collateral-free lending limits will be raised from Rs 10 to Rs 20 lakhs.
Other Pm Garib Kalyan Package Components
Sector that is organised:
Employees’ Provident Fund Regulations Will Be Amended To Add Pandemic To The List Of Reasons For Allowing Non-Refundable Advances Of 75% Of The Amount Or Three Months Of Wages, Whichever Is Lower, From Their Accounts.
This Window Is Available To Families Of Four Crore Epf-Registered Workers.
Welfare Fund For Building And Other Construction Workers:
A Central Government Act established a Welfare Fund for Building and Other Construction Workers.
The Fund has almost 3.5 million registered workers.
State governments will be given instructions on how to use this fund to help and support these workers in order to protect them from economic disruptions.
Mineral Fund for the District
The state government will be asked to use funds from the District Mineral Fund (Dmf) to supplement and augment medical testing, screening, and other requirements in connection with preventing the spread of the Cvid-19 pandemic and treating those who have been affected by it.
